The 2026 Guangzhou Medical and Health Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as “Guangzhou Medical Expo”), hosted by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality, will be grandly held from August 21 to 23 at Area B of the Canton Fair Complex. This includes 12 Fortune Global 500 companies, 29 listed companies, and over 1,000 high-tech enterprises. Industry leaders such as BeiGene, Bio-Thera, and Yipinhong Group continue to drive industrial upgrading through innovation. In 2025, Guangzhou boasted more than 7,600 medical and health institutions, including 56 tertiary Class A hospitals covering all 11 districts, ranking first in the province in number and far exceeding other cities in Guangdong. With an annual diagnosis and treatment volume of 191 million person-times, it provides a natural testing ground for the clinical transformation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Top tertiary Class A hospitals such as the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, as well as leading specialized hospitals including Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University, not only safeguard public health but also act as core forces promoting medical technology innovation and clinical achievement transformation.

Industrial carriers such as Guangzhou International Bio Island and Huangpu District boast remarkable agglomeration effects. Huangpu District alone is home to over 4,800 biomedical enterprises, including 463 high-tech enterprises, 328 specialized and sophisticated enterprises, and 21 listed companies, accounting for 72% of the city’s total, injecting strong impetus into industrial innovation.

Relying on profound industrial accumulation and high-quality resource integration capabilities, the 2025 Guangzhou Medical Expo delivered outstanding results, attracting 245 exhibitors including 97 medical institutions, covering all tertiary Class A hospitals and high-quality medical institutions in Guangzhou, forming an exhibition pattern of “linkage between medical institutions and enterprises, with full participation across the region”.
